Being one of Thailand’s prime tourist destinations, Phuket attracts a broad cross section of people. Russians, Indians, Brits, Aussies — Phuket attracts something like five million people every years. The numbers keep increasing — and so does the variety in Phuket restaurants.
There’s not a lot to do in Vernazza, but there are several good hikes. You can take Cinque Terre Trail Two to Corniglia or Monterossa. There’s also a trail behind the Chapel of Santa Maria that has more beautiful views, or you can hike up to the ruins of the castle. Kayak rentals are available in the harbor, and they’re a great way to explore the coast.
Daniel is from Long Island and makes some of the best pizza in the Raleigh area. The pizza is thin crust, with great sauce and cheese just like NY pizza. Daniels also makes other great Italian dishes, like Chicken Parmesan.
On Sunday, we headed down the coast to Carmel and checked out some of the Carmel CA Recipes and todo’s. For lunch, we ate at Dametra Cafe which not only served delicious food but also had live entertainment. We started out with the baba ganoug and then I ate the steamed mussels and clams, and Victor enjoyed their delicious moussaka.
One of the biggest problems with “restaurant food” is the overall quality of the food. Unless the menu says otherwise we can assume we’re eating food that is best restaurants toxic loaded with steroids antibiotics hormones pesticides preservatives and so on.
Walking into Hy’s Steak House, one of the best restaurants in Honolulu, is like walking back in time. The waiter stations are wood marvels topped with antique marble tops.
When I lived in Talkeetna in 2007, the Cafe Michele was a quiet, wonderful little place that very few people stopped in. That was good for me, but not good for business, and the owner leased the location out, and it’s now named the Kahiltna Bistro. The Bistro still has some wonderful food, and a huge new outdoor deck, where you can enjoy the sun, scenery, and watch people milling around town.
