Solar power is often discussed in terms of dealing with home energy needs. Why not in larger terms? Well, the problem is storage. Most devices have been inefficient at storing the massive amounts of energy produced on solar farms. This is where molten salt batteries might change things.

China appears to realize it has a problem on the energy front. It has aggressively been looking into renewable energy. From hydropower projects like the Three Gorges Dam to solar and wind power, the country has taken an aggressive planning stance. Now comes news China will invest 5.8 BILLION dollars in alternative energy platforms. China is primarily focusing on wind and hydropower projects.

The Capital of Montana is Helena, and the state flag is a blue background with the seal under “Montana.” The seal shows the beautiful scenery and what early pioneers did. A pick, shovel and plow depict the mining and farming history of the state. A sun is rising over the mountains and forests, and the Great Falls of the Missouri river can be seen.

There is just no question that our destiny will include a majority of renewable energy. We could include here a big, long list of renewable and power technologies that we can utilize. But the important thing to remember is that all of us are going to have to find our way with products that suit us and our lifestyle. The desert does not have the same needs and resources as the beach. Or the deep south with its great heat. The north with its terribly severe winters. Not a great deal of similarity between the needs of those places.

Other people were also working with the sun to heat water. There is evidence that the American Indians used solar energy to heat their dwellings. August Mouchet used a solar driven steam engine that he built in 1878.

The salt deposits are a naturally occurring formation below the Earth’s surface. The deposits are located only in certain areas throughout the world. These deposits are also where the world gets its potash; a key ingredient in fertilizer. The salt deposits are found in two forms: salt beds, or salt domes. Salt beds are more prominent and consist of a thinner layer of salt. They are usually not as dense as a salt dome nor as deep, for these reasons salt beds are less popular than salt domes for salt cavern construction. Salt domes are more sought after for they are much thicker and extremely deep, sometimes to 25ft high by a half mile wide, or more.

Don’t wash them so much. Washing machines consume huge amounts of water and energy, while utilizing harsh detergents and chemicals that do the environment no favors. Try to wash full loads less frequently, and line dry if possible. And avoid dry cleaning if you can.

#3 – Living in a solar energy home is like powering it from the universe – with free energy! You will never, ever get a monthly “solar utilities” bill. It’s just not going to happen. The sun belongs to everyone, and the power it flings out into space is inexhaustible and free to collect. If you had five hundred billion solar panels all pointing at the sun, all at the same time, you would still never deplete the sun of its energy, even in the slightest degree. It’s just far too plentiful. This is a truly sustainable energy source. This means that it is constantly renewable – quite different from burning fossil fuels which can only get consumed and never replaced… nor are they continually being produced.
