Why Blogs Don’t Work For Getting Seo Traffic

Posted ByKylie PerkinsApril 21, 2020

In the middle 1990’s everyone started talking about needing a website. Now, the new “must have” is a web log or blog. While blogs can come in all shapes and sizes, a blog is just a very simple way to publish a journal, record of events, thoughts, ideas or whatever the author wants to write about. A blog sits on a website – whether that site is run by you or managed by a company that will “host” your blog.

A lot of time when people take on too much work and are struggling to keep everything updated they take ideas from other people. There is nothing wrong with getting ideas and inspiration from other blogs as long as all content is original. Blog readers look forward to reading unique posts. If a blogger maintains multiple blogs that are all similar, they still need to make sure each of them has completely original posts. Plus, if one reader follows the multiple blogs and the blogs seem repetitive, the reader will end up choosing to only follow one of the blogs in the future. Readers do not respond well to information that is not original.

Oh, I’ve had a bunch of blogs cover my business, but I got no sales. Bloggers are just looking for free stuff anyway. Plus I can’t afford to send them samples or waste my time writing guest posts. Enough with these little guys, I’m ready for the big leagues.

I committed to doing all these things, but in the meaintime, what about my website and the products that I was trying to sell, the money I was hoping to make?

I started blogging in March of 2004. I have certainly gained the benefits described above. Beyond those, I have made new connections with potential colleagues and collaborators who have found my blog and sent me comments, feedback or questions.

blogs are easier to create and maintain. Also, updating and adding content is much easier to do and the owner can learn how to do it fairly easily. look it up rank higher with the search engines as well because the content is added to and updated far more often than with websites.

So, while I’m waiting to climb out of Google’s sandbox, I have an ace in the hole and another up my sleeve that is continuing to make sales for me – my blog. Unknowingly, I had stumbled upon one of the best ways to get my products out there before the buying public.

Nevertheless, other bloggers can also suggest books written by fellow bloggers and receive an affiliate payment. As a result of how do blogs make money, marketers are paid among 33%-50% to recommend books and products written by other bloggers.
