I always say that making money online isn’t hard – but it requires hard work. Hard work like trying to find out the best way to do certain things and how to really expand, and succeed. If I had to start all over again I’d do a lot of things differently – and I mean a lot of things. But we all have to suffer our own setbacks to really appreciate how far we’ve come. (Or so I’m told at least;-) So here’s what I would do if I was completely new to making money online.
There are several ways to make your blog one of the “hot” blogs online. Traditionally, those companies that have the largest star-power have had the most popular follow my progress, since everyone loves to read about celebrity or success. However, a great many smaller companies and individuals are developing large followings on the web. You can, too, with this simple lesson.
Last year Google introduced the “nofollow” attribute for links. Using this attribute on a link is supposed to inoculate the linking site from any negative association to the site being linked to. It’s to be used when you are not in control of the link being posted (as in blog comments) or when you don’t want your link to a site to be considered as you “vouching” for that site in the eyes of the search engines. I think the most accurate description of the “nofollow” attribute is that it’s a link condom.
The nofollow was merely a band aid fix to one kind of blog spam, but not a solution to the real problem. But since there is not just one kind of blog spam there is no single solution either.
Make Money Online niches get better comments. The spammers assume that Make Money Online are a lot more aware of them then other niches so the spammers have no choice but to write better comments for a more savvy webmaster. The commenters of make money online blogs know about keywords and long tails. Therefore, your commenters might help you out by adding some new long tails you didn’t think of!
Also do not forget to link from your blog to some important pages of your own site containing valuable information. Blogging is quite anonymous and that’s certainly the case with the feeds involved. You don’t know who’s reading your post in a feed reader. When you have links in it pointing to your site that can boost your traffic!
I’m sure you’re wondering by now how this is done. Well it is really quite simple all you have to do is contact the owners of popular blogs in your niche. For the niches I am involved in I have a long list of blogs that I can contact for guest posting. To look for blogs in your niche search for top blogs on Google or use Stumble Upon. Stumble Upon is great because you can search in your niche and it’s easy to find popular pages with great content and they are often blogs. Start compiling your list of blogs so you can easily find new sites to guest post on.
