Inspiration is what we desire most times to drive us to our goals and fulfill our ambitions. Given the doldrums that could surround us it is difficult at times to even have the willingness to get out of bed. It is during these times that we ask our selves the question of what all our effort and time is in aid of. Below are five important sources for inspirational energy that drive us to achieve.
I literally listen to digital music as I step out of bed each morning and continue listening until I close my eyes at night, even after I fall asleep (I have the timer set on 30 minutes). Music will never fade away. It is perpetual and will always exist in one form or another. If you think about it music is just a couple of sound waves that produce one really unique result. Music is in a nature. Listen to the wind blowing through the trees, or the waves breaking on the beach… just another type of favourites.
I’m not just talking about musicians and writers, I’m talking about artists, athletes, and any other person who needs to find some inspiration for something they want to do.
Soul and R&B (short for Rhythm and Blues) is also a music genre that has changed dramatically over the years and is still very popular to listen to today. Many people listen to R&B and it is a popular African-American genre that came about in the 1940s, but in the 1980s a new form of R&B was developed called contemporary R&B. Johny Otis and The Clovers were popular artists that influenced R&B in the 50s. In the 90s and 2000s was when R&B became more based on the pop genre. It is questionable whether artists such as Beyonce and Lady Gaga are actually R&B artists or Pop artists.
Don’t try to download music from a place where you can’t trust where it’s coming from. For instance, you shouldn’t use pirating software to get your music. This is because you could end up downloading a virus or spyware. It’s also against the law to do this, so only get downloads from trusted sources.
Every one of your favorite musicians was inspired by another artist. It will be no different for you. So listen, copy, and learn from them. Each has a unique view of music that’s reflected in their music. Discover what it is and see how you can add your own passion and life experience, making it your own. You might be a little bit of AC/DC and a little bit of Santana and come up with your own sound, feel, and contribution to music with your style.
This is not to take anything away from talented people – it is a talent to be able to do this and some can obviously do it better than others. Talent can also be increased by practice. That is for sure, but geniuses are born, not self-made.
